You are not going to wear out anything in your transmission because of the brand of lube...
All a 5 speed needs is any brand 85w90 gear lube and it will last just about forever.
The worst enemy of a 5 speed transmission is the dipstick, lots of reports on the forum about them breaking off and getting eaten by the gears, it happened on my `89 Softail about a year ago:

Yep .. The dipsticks left something more to be desired ... While one gear oil may have more "magic" in it I've seen a gearbox failure because of a brand of gear oil being the culprit although Shock Proof did seem to quiet up my 6 speed when it was new ... Of course it could have been just breaking it in ... Who knows
The Amsoil thing has an almost cult following.
Same with Seafoam.
With so many testimonials like I've been using it for 50 years and never had a problem.
Well you shouldn't have had a problem using any good oil.
I have used a variety of good quality motorcycle oils.
They all work.
I do prefer these two in the other two holes.
But I wouldn't get a tattoo of either of the brands.
(I have seen both Amsoil and Seafoam tattoos).
