Funny thing here is, that most say that Woods cams have aggressive ramps and can be noisy and in the hand of the novice, yes they can be if not adjusted properly..
The TDC lifts of both the W6 cam and the EV27 are very similar (.189/.178 compared to .182/.166) and not to mention stock is only .091/.083 so yes, lots have mentioned valve train noise with the 27..
In your heavier bike the EV13 is the best choice..
I wouldn’t change cams on your particular bike the 13 was meant for the heavier bikes vs the 27 for FX series
Now in a FX Evo I have had both, my 97 Springer had the W6 and headwork, my current Evo the 92 has the 27 no other mods..
IMO the 27 should have been the factory stock cam it’s not overly aggressive will not cause any abnormal wear because it’s to “racey” just a little more pep and sounds great through SE slip ons.
The W6 is only slightly more aggressive, I had more valve train noise but also had a more open intake that transfers sound along with D&D 2:1 fatcat so sound and intake noise not a fair comparison.
The first week your seat Dyno will fell like we really unleashed gobs more power, once that settles in you realize this is what a Evo era Harley should have ran like.
Well, I had one of those moments that reminds me I'm human and not perfect. I thought I had done a complete tune-up (including timing) a couple years ago when I installed the EV13, I was wrong. I was doing a 95,748 point safety check/tune (sarcasm intended) last weekend and that little monkey in the back of my circus said "check your timing". Sure enough, it was off by quite a bit. So I got the timing set correctly and DAM! What a difference. I'm am now much more impressed with the EV13 at the lower end. I guess I need to double check my work and be more thorough.
I have a EV27 in my 95 Road King. I am very happy with the performance. I can't speak to the angle of the lift, but I am very happy with the torque as well as performance in general. 33k on the clock.
I have an EV27 in my Bad Boy and it’s fine. Running OEM lifters.
No issues here. Been running the EV27 and OEM lifters for a few years. I have a Buttcrack Solo saddle and the power nearly pushes me off the back. I think its enough.

All good thoughts. My buddy said the exact same thing about his 98 after I did 10:1, EV27, 2000i Iggy & E carb. I don’t think Harley “could” make that the factory cam. Even then they had to keep the government happy with emissions and noise requirements. I think it would be good for the industry, good for the economy, good for morale if the requirements lightened for the American made motorcycle. We’d have a sense of pride being faster, cooler than the foreign competition.

NO Issues???
Look at that dip.. Those pipes are the second worst pipes you can put on an Evo...
I know because I had a set.. Nothing but noise..
NIce bike though..

For kicks n giggles pull the baffles out of those and install the large TTI’s per instruction and retune the carb. I bet that dip will be better, not fixed, but better.
I put an Andrews EV27 in my 94 Softail Custom
With the Mikuni carb, adjustable push rods, H4 ignition set at single spark and new lifters
The throttle response is quick. My MPG sucks.
My only gripe is the decel pop I can't adjust out.
