Thanks for all your inputs? Haha…… Shrapnel all in the bottom end. Case, cylinders, heads, oil pump, and many other parts are salvageable. Crank probably rebuilt or replaced when the time comes.

Drinking tea from a KB pistons so difficult! 😂😂

1998. Very decent shape on the outside. Will see the inside once case is split.

I hear about the warnings on this site for many years, but never had experience with them. Maybe the person who set it up did not set the correct ring gap. I haven't really investigated, but the broken piston did have a broken oil ring. I will have to relook at it closer. They were KB standard size pistons.

oh wow what you have there is the KB Blower piston, no not a supercharger, just rev’er up and watch it blow

^^^ I had a shop install the shovelhead version on my 82 FXR. They measured it out and were impressed.

The UEM (United Engine & Machine) KB forged 4032 are some real good pistons.
Anything hypereutectic are the problem child.
