Halloween is coming, so here’s some scary stuff for you old guys. I bought a project Evo motor. Seller said engine overheated, but rebuildable case. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worse.

Tearing it down, there was debris all inside cam chest, but lifters, cam, heads and rocker boxes all good.

Once the rear head came off, I think I found the possible reason of the loss of compression. Haha

Definitely not stock piston.

Front cylinder and piston.

I wanted a project, and I got one. 😂😂

Some guys over engineer…no need to go to something like JB weld. Get you some Temu compression leak additives.

Don`t be ridiculous, everyone knows the lid should be riveted on...

Might buff out with a little effort. Rounders may be along to tell you about his rebuild and to check the rods to make sure they fall away correctly.

Big jump brother.
I may have a set of .010 over stock pistons lying around. I'll take a look when I get a chance.
Definitely use a top notch 3 hole crank pin going back together with the lower end.
Have fun.
