So I pulled all the crap put it had a heck of a time with the check valve not wanting to drill.. I stuck a big 11/16 awl in there and went all Chuck Norris on it.

Bikes back together… I rode it to lunch and am sitting 50 miles from home finishing my Murphys.. no leaks.

I have the Pingel valve and that Pingel adapter. How much capacity is gained?

R2m still had all the EFI components in the tank, take it out replace the space with gas, common sense.

I'm just curious if anyone has measured the actual volume of all that crap.

it held right at 5 gallons when the crap was in there… after yanking it out it adds about a 1/3 gallon…. So let’s call it 8-10 extra miles a tank in distance.

Sorry Dehammer, thought you was just messing with me.
Glad R2m was able to answer your question.

No problem. I dug into my original tank and removed it all. Later I swapped it out with a newer tank without the internals but still had the two holes.

I'll take that extra few miles any day. I can't remember how many times I've sweated it out on fumes. It's a ritual.

Invite somebody on a Sportster to come… that way all those 70-80 mile stops are not because we’re old and have bad knees but rather those sissies on girls bikes made you stop.. and your just a kind and reasonable kinda person now stopping for “their” benefit.

It’s weird… I was a no helmet guy for 30 years. Where I grew up women liked responsible fellows who used a helmet, but code was fellows who used helmets already have boyfriends.

Fast forward and I relocate to FL. And EVERYONE I ride with wear helmets, Armored jackets, boots, gloves… Somehow it was like reverse peer pressure lol. Sexting, Texting, Tourists, Grey hair, Soccer Moms, chicks putting on lipstick and on the phone with their therapists while driving, prozac, Zoloft, schizophrenia, road rage… It’s a war out there to stay alive on two wheels… times change.

So now I have like 7 helmets… sorta collect them now.

The Silver Bell is pretty cool, thanks for the compliment.

Sorry everyone.. I do get off topic and ramble. 16 years of marriage. This forum is like the only time it’s my turn to talk.

‘’Mrs Rains… reportedly confirms “I’m not funny”
