As mentioned quick attach saddle bags and windscreen. Bags are on the smaller side. Yes the bike sits taller with more ground clearance. Taller shocks and that 28* rake makes it taller. Rear turn signals are in a different location to accommodate the bags. Speedo and tach are mounted on the bars like a sporty and the convertible has a different fuel tank. 4.9 gallon tank and has only one fuel cap with a crossover tube on bottom of tank. The only gauge on the tank is a fuel gauge dead center of the tank in a panel/cowl. Also has dual disc brakes up front. Key is on right side under seat and above trans. Comes with a second set of foot rests like forward controls but does not have forward controls. It is a mid control bike.
That's a great idea for removing the filter.
What about installing the new one? Do you fill it with oil before installation (thereby still making a bit of a mess)? I know some engines are not at all tolerant of starting with a dry filter.
I fill the filter about 1/4 full then install it. No mess and there's just enough oil in there to eliminate a totally "dry" start condition. Don't know if this is needed or not, but it gives me a little peace of mind.

Same here
Of course the VIN is the most reliable way to tell, with GGL after 1HD1
The early Harley’s and this is the section for them - everyone the filter is in the exit to the oil tank and not in the feed side when filling it would matter
