Yeah, I like Leak Lock. If you have access to some, it works on just about everything

As long as the teflon tape is on the threads and not off the end it will be fine.

That is what AI says but if I google thread tape for pipe thread brake fitting I get Teflon tape..

If you look at the first thing AI found for me, you get ...

One guy says the fillers in Teflon tape causes the issue.. There aren't any fillers.. It's 100% Teflon.

As a Steam Fitter A for many years, either is fine.. One needs to remember that Teflon Tape or Dope is primarily a lubricant to help with locking the male and female threads together to prevent leaks..

They make gas and brake resistant tape. It’s what I use.
