Rear Brake Light Switch
My rear brake isn't triggering the light; it's the switch. On searching the forum I find that it's a common problem and the HD switches are short life money makers for the dealers. So, on advice from this post, I'm going back with a Napa SL147SB switch. My question to you guys: I know very well that I'm not supposed to use PTFE tape on any flared or other hydraulic fitting, but this switch has a common 1/8" NPT thread on bottom; do I use tape or sealant on the switch or do I just crank it down enough that it doesn't leak?

That's good to know, Frank; thank you. Inasmuch as it's a NPT, it should require a sealant; inasmuch as it's a brake fitting, I'm hesitant. Knowing you've done it, I'll be very, very careful with the tape and seal 'im right up. Thanks!
