My Mom and Dad hit a cow on his bike down in FL many years ago. Messed up his elbow pretty good. Has had to have many surgeries over the years because of it. My mom never got back on the bike after that. Absolutely hated it when I started riding......

My buddy hit a cow once, okay it was me, and I cracked her a couple of times.

Then, she got to be a nag about everything, so I quit dating her.

generally, if you hit and kill free range cattle, you have to pay the owner for his loss of revenue. just something else to think about.........

as far as i know there is no free range in wisconsin. every farm i've ever saw has fences to keep the cows in. i would sue the farmer.

Open range is still open range whether it is fenced or not. You are liable if you hit a critter where the land is open range at least in Montana.
