Default Squeak when decelerating

I just turned fifty and finally got my Harley, it's a 93 FLHTC with 24,000 on it. It has just developed a high pitched squeakin noise when I back off the gas. Kind of reminds me of a loud hamster wheel. Has anyone had this problem?

I too just bought a 93 FLHTC. It had squeaking sounds that turned out to be loose bolts. The bolts holding the saddlebag guards on were loose. I also found that the mount for the mufflers, the rubber one would squeak but a shot of WD40 took care of that.

I had that same situation and thought it was my S&S whistling when I let off the throttle. Turned out to be my belt needed adjusting.

Yep...it's the secondary drive belt. Just needs to be adjusted.

Mine started to do that and I pulled the rear wheel and packed some grease in the wheel bearings, I plan on taking it apart this winter and do a proper repacking.

Make sure the pulley on the tranny is tight. My 93 FLSTF snapped the retaining screws and the nut backed off. It sounded like a squeak. Ruined the output shaft on the tranny.
