I'm having to send my '95 tank back to Harley for a complete 'overhaul' of the inside and new OEM anniversary painting on the outside-long story and I will share with you folks in the coming weeks. Right now I need to find a temporary tank to use for about 4-6 weeks. I've found some used one's on eBay; two in particular, but the say "for 1997" and up. What's the difference in a '95 year model and a '97? My bike is EFI and these two tanks on eBay are also for EFI bikes. Any suggestions would be welcomed and appreciated!
I'll answer my own question. In 1995-1996 the fuel pumps were the same and are interchangeable. Beginning in 1997 the fuel pump was changed again and not interchangeable with earlier models. Oh what a tangled web I've woven!
or do a google search for used harley parts. Hemmings motor news is a good sorce for hot rod parts, but I can't remeber if they had bikes in there. You might even go to an HD dealer and see if they have any dented ones that you can get cheap since it's only temperary. If you work at it hard enough, you'll find one.
