Hey everybody. New to the forums. Looks like a good one with lots of godd info and people. My question is will tank and fenders from a 99 injected rk fit my 01 injected rkp. I have had no luck trying to find this info.
The fenders will fit; no problem. The gas tank PROBABLY will fit, also. But I'd check the HD parts manuals for the two bikes at the parts counter of a local HD store. Check the tank part numbers first; if they're identical you're good to go. However, the part numbers may not be the same, so check the parts that go into and on the gas tanks. For example, if both use the same tank console, same pod assembly for the fuel pump, filler neck, tank to frame parts, etc., you will be good to go.
Questions like this come up and, unless someone who has done the exact same swap, you have to do your own research. Frankly, having owned an '04 FLHTPI for 5 years and made numerous mods to it, I trust the parts manuals far more than any individual anecdotal information I read on a forum.
Like was said the fenders will be fine...but the tank depends on how many fuel outlets there are on your tank. The 99 EFi has 2 fuel outlets for the MM EFI unit. If your tank only has one then you have either a carb bike or delphi EFI. I think your bike has the MM EFI with 2 outlets so the tank should work....but like the other Guy said check the part numbers to make sure...
