Default Different Evo Pumps

Is there a modification that can be done to the oil pump 1992 so it will fit 1991 and down.It shows the bolt pattern is a bit different. Can i modifie bolt holes to fit older block 1988.Not sure if the oil routing is different.I am just new at this thing but willing to listen. If not i guess a new is on order.

I can't answer your question but have seen a drilling guide sold by after market places such as Dennis Kirk to fit performance oil pumps to older models, the guide it is not needed for newer models. My guess is with the guide you may be able to drill the needed holes. Let us know for sure, I have a '90 and considering upgrading the oil pump.

Get a replacement from S&S; it's a better pump. You might even be able to talk to someone there about it when installation time comes.

That drilling guide may be to drill the extra hole on Shovelheads to use the later pumps. The extra hole is up at the top. I had to drill it by hand when I replaced the pump on a 79 because you couldn't find a jig anywhere in the mid 80's when I did it.
