Nice looking FXEF....and it appears to be mostly original....
For forward controls, ride without them for a while and see if you like it. I was going to buy forward controls for mine when I first got it, but after a while of riding, I didn't want to spend the money. I use the highway pegs all the time, but I shift and brake most of the time with my heals. If using the rear brake, I'll often just raise my foot off the highway peg and use it on the brake (90% of my braking is front brake s only). I can't remember the last time I ever shifted while using the mid-controls......I've worn holes on the back of the ankle of several pairs of boots over the years.
You have the best of both worlds when you fit highway pegs. (Even though I have switched to floorboards for a foot clutch now)
Otherwise, you get what you pay for. Cheap forwards have poor quality bushings etc and turn floppy real quick.
And by the way, with KK and me ha ha ha ha you have just run into two of the three other regular 1985 FXEF guys on net forums. There are not many of us!!!
