I was just now reading the information on ThunderMax's website about their replacement EFI system. It replaces the stock Marelli EFI on my bike and other year models as well. Has anyone done this replacement? What were your reasons for doing so and what have been your results? I would consider doing it after my engine's warranty expires at the end of November. Thus far I have no complaints with the Marelli EFI except I'm very disappointed in my current fuel mileage; 33-35 mpg at a true 65mph.
Over the next several months I plan to investigate the results of having the ThunderMax EFI w/closed loop auto tuner installed and possibly adding Screamin Eagle heads. My desire would be for better fuel economy and a bit more power with no increase in exhaust sound; I run stock exhaust; easier on my ears whilst riding long distances. Lemme know what 'cha think, okay?
