question about softail swingarm
What is the widest tire I can put on a stock 92 softail swingarm? I have a 160 avon on a 4.25 rim that I was going to put on with a narrow pulley and spacer kit. I would like to go with a 180 on a 5.5"rim. I think that would look better on the 9.5" ness taildragger fender that I'm putting on the bike. I will also be changing over to chain drive.

A 200 will fit on the stock swingarm. Doherty Machine makes a front sprocket with .875 offset that will allow a 200. I have a 93 Fatboy that I changed to chain and put a 150 out back. Plenty of room for a larger tire, the fender is the limiting factor for me right now. The 150 kit use a .50 offset sprocket. The Doherty piece is pricey. A cheaper alternative is Jireh sells a sprocket with .810 offset. Do some research I'm not sure if the wheel is anything special to install a 200.

You can put a 2000+ swing arm in there and gain a little more room. Put a swing arm from the new 200mm and you have plenty of room. You have to use your 1984-99 evo pivot bolt set up.
