Engine vibration
I have a '95 FXDWG with an Evo engine. I recently switched from dino to AMSoil for all my fluids. Ever since, I have noticed a high frequency vibration in my footpegs. It only happens when it is under power ( not at idle). I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it is normal.
I would test the oil levels, specially transmission and primary to check if they are not overfilled. I don't know if another thing can cause the vibrations but this should be the first check point.
Let us know how are your levels.

Cabledude,
depending on how religious you were (or the previous owner was) with your oil changes when you were using the dino oil, it is possible that the Amsoil has cleaned your flywheels. Sludge can build up on the flywheels and conrod and form a "natural" balance weight because it will naturally move to the area of unbalance (due to centripital force). Over time this hardens and effectively balances these engine components. Synthetic oil has an extremely efficient detergent additive package (from what I've researched, synthetic oils are able to have a higher level of detergent additives due to their higher flashpoint and Noack volitility). These detergents WILL clean the inside of your engine and, as a consequence, could have cleaned this balance sludge from the reciprocating parts therein. As an aside, when I get on the gas on my 98 FXSTC I too get quite a lot of vibration. This is the nature of the EVO (mainly due to the stocktwin spark ignition). It would also possibly be worthwhile checking all of your motor mounts for correct torque.
Of course, none of this could be the reason for what you are experiencing. It's just a theory.
Cheers.

of the EVO is caused by itsdual-spark ignition
(ie, the wasted spark system) ?

I checked the fluids and they are all full. The engine oil still looks good. I didn't have time to check the mounts, yet. I'll get them as soon as I can and post afterwartds. Thanks for all the help so far.
