 \\;Let me start by saying that I dont make a habit of speeding, however a few weeks ago a buddy and myself were cruising at 90-95mph for a good half hour and my stock evo still felt smooth...and had no trouble keeping up with my buddies 07 duece.
 \\;So my guess is, you have some sort of jetting problem.
My 90 bagger pulls well up to 90, I usually cruise between 80 - 85 two up without any issues. Any more than this and the vibrations through the bars start to get two much.. \\;
Cleaned the carb this weekend, it was not bad. \\; But I pulled the new plugs I just put in last month and they were black as heck. \\; So she is definitely running rich. \\;
No idea whats in the carb now so i guess i start from scratch.
Hopefully once i fix this she will have more on the top end.
This is an interesting subject.I never new what are the EVO limits.I drove recently from Toronto,Canada to Daytona B,1250 miles in 2 days and back..I kept my speed at \\; 70-75 mph,according to the local speed limits.I didn't want to have problems with local cops.But I had a feeling that my bike
worked best at 3000 rpm,and I kept this \\; engine speed most of \\; my trip, it means 15 hours a day.
I know she could go faster,but for how long? I ride 96 fxdl with 68ths miles on it,and the engine was never touched. Maybe I'm too slow,maybe I can ride 5 mph faster,good question. Mat
i really haven't had my bike long enough to test the theory. \\; so far, the longest cruise i've taken was about a 35 mi (70 mi round trip) cruise. \\; since the bike is new to me i kept it at about 70 mph, but it seemed to have alot of throttle left. \\; i suppose i'll baby it until the new-ness factor goes away. \\; i never thought i'd ever admit that i enjoy cruising at slower speeds that at light speed on rice rockets! \\; now i know what i've been missing.
I've ran taken my ultra \\;up to 90-95 and still had throtle. \\; I wouldn't hold it there for any serious length of time, but these bike should easily be able to do 100+.
My 91 E Glide Classic needs high test or it pings bad! I've cruised for a couple of hours at it's top end, 105. Most of the time I'm running between 75 and 85 if I'm on the interstate less on small roads.
