Then warm it up and do a high speed run at wide open throttle and kill the ignition with your kill switch while doing that, then coast to the side of the road and pull the spark plug and see what color the end is.

Of course, do this in a safe area. There are other possibilities more serious, but most problems like this are carb related.

What qualifies as a high speed run?&nbsp\\; Winding out 2nd or running 65/70 in 5th?

A fellow on another forum had his carb done by the fellow at the link below and he wrote that he now
gets 46 mpg 2 up towing a trailer, and has a lot of power using 87 octane and no pinging -
he said he does get an occasional cough out the carb, which many attribute to the lighter weight slide.

I may send mine to him but it will be a winter project.

I have a 96 Electra Glide Classic FI and it can cruise at 85mph on a good day.&nbsp\\; It has problems with long hills, but it livens up
once at the top of the hill.
