I just got a 1984 creme colored FLHTC given to me. How cool is that? My question is to anybody with knowledge of orignal paint on Harleys, is how many and what years was this color used? Thanks in advance, Learch
I have to go get it in California and I now live in Kentucky. I haven't even seen a picture yet! I'm picking it up at the end of Oct. and will post some pictures then. Just wanted to see if there were very many made.
That 2 tone bike might have cream as the color inside the teardrop of the tank but the other color doesn't seem to be cream, at least as Harley officially names it. The cream color Harley used around that time is called "classic cream" and that might be what was used on the teardrop and bottom of the saddlebags. If I can find the name of the other shade of paint I'll post it for you.
Ok, from my notes Classic Cream has been used from '79 to '90 and maybe a couple recent model years, the color code is EX so the Harley part numbers are 98600EX for touchup, 98606EX for Aerosol and 98603EX for a quart.

The main color of yur bike likely is Classic Tan used from '79 to '85 and \\;on special factory orders in \\;'99 as far as I can tell. The color code is EN. Just add the EN instead of EX to the above part numbers if it is available.
