Question Motor changes...need advice

I have 90 FXR with a stock motor. 3 years ago the motor was sent back to Harley to get rebuilt. I put the tuner kit in the CV carb last year and that made a big difference. I need some more power because I do allot of 2 up riding. The bike dogs when me and wife are both on it. No she’s not fat, I am. I want to swap out the cam with something that will give me some get up and go. I’m not looking to set new speed records or drag race. I just want to hit the gas and be able to get up to speed.
I wondering if my fellow EVO bothers could give me some advice.

Andrews EV-27 cam is a nice bolt-in cam and gives a broad torque range,I have a few friends that have used that cam and it works nice.

Thanks Lowglide I'm going to look into that.

I put the Bob Woods W6 in mine during the fall and have been very pleased with it so far.

The Woods 6 series of cams consistently make more torque than the others and are "bolt in". Combine them with a set of heads that are freshened up and cut slightly and you got a winner for sure. Check out the web site. Hope this helps.

Great advice thanks guys. Man I like this forum!!!! I spent 2 years fixing all the stuff that was bad and now I can finally concentrate on the good things. New paint and performance, I never thought this day would come. Unfortunately it will all have to wait until the winter, because I need to ride now. This bike was in sad shape when I bought it. The bike was dropped on the right side by the previous owner. The rest of the parts were old and tired. I got luck with the motor because it was rebuilt by the factory, 2 years prior to me buying. I’m at the point now where I no longer have to worry about it not starting. I can take it on long trips and not worry about it braking down. I better get the “before” pics up soon so I can have this all documented. It’s been hard and there have been times when I came close to selling it and buying a new one. I’m glad I didn’t.

One other option is Head-Quarters. I have the HQ-0024 Rumble Stick. Nice cam overall. I have no other motor work or carb kits and she runs great. My wrench always comments how nice it runs.

Head-Quarters also has some nice EVO build up kits.

I'm running the Andrews EV27, but I've got a 1993 FLHS which is a heavier bike than the FXR. There is a world of difference between the stock (93) cam and the aftermarket mfg's. Check with Woods for recommends. You might also consider one of their CV carbs. In the Andrews, I would imagine either the EV3 or EV46 might be a good choice too.

What sort of pipes are you running?

Also, if HD rebuilt your EVO, they most likely re-installed the INA cam bearing. Any upgrade to the cam will necessitate removing that and installing a Torrington.

I run the EV-3.....plenty of grunt, and pulls hard.
Worth considering.

Right Now I'm running drag pipes, but there not open drags. No clue what they are. I will be replacing them very soon. I'm just now getting the chance to start up grading everything. I spent the last year and half replacing everything that was broke or wore out. This bike was nothing but a beater for the last owner, so he did really keep up with it.
Now that you mentioned..........Any ideas on pipes out there?
