hey all. just picked up a 92 flhtc. motor has 18000 miles on it. i just installed a 27 andrews cam. ive got a 48 pilot and a 195 main. seems to run pretty decent. went from a twincam toi an evo so no comparison. my question is this...the screemin eagle pushrods say 2 1/5 turns. i did this let em bleed down and could still spin them easy with fingers. went to 3 turns. still pretty easy to spin. can any one shed some light or experience with this. is 3 to much? or are they suppose to spin real freely when set proper. also why can yo not run stockers with the 27 cam. justcuriouse. any help would be great if yous could chime in. thanx. also were these cams a little noisier than stock grind?
are they supposed to spin pretty freely ar have some resistance. i know on my twincam they had some resistance. its been a few years since ive done them on an evo.
You put the cam so the lifter is on the base circle, expand the pushrod out to where there is just no up and down movement, then expand it out however much the destructions said, then you leave it alone and don't worry about being able to spin it with your fingers. Your lifters are too tight now.
Yep, SE adjustables are 24 threads per inch, which equates to 2 1/2 turns from zero... 3 rounds won't hurt anything, but you should reset them sometime.
