Screaming Eagle ignition modules
Doode, if money's tight, then diagnose your problem before you throw parts at it. Wires practically never give thermal problems. Coils, modules and sensors do. The specs for all of those are in the shop manual and a $15 digital multi meter from wally world is all you need. Get it hot and acting up, then test per the book. If everything is within spec at that point, then I'd start thinking about blindly replacing stuff. If you don't have the shop manual, I'm sure someone around can scan you the relavant pages.
I do have the shop manual. I figuer the wires are probably 7-8 years old so I will replace them. Then as Dr Hess said I will start testing everything out. Along time ago i had the same problem and it was the sensor plate. So I bought on and of course not it this time. I have replace the coil but that was a while back too. I have taken the tank off and am checking for shorts or bad wires. Thanks for all the help everyone! I have had this bike since it was new so no one has messed with exept my and the dealership.
