Im thinking this is a short in the system, but wondering if anyone has had this before to make sure....
If Im sitting idley with the bike running, everything is kosher, but as soon as I begin to take off, and the RPM's go up and bike speed increases, I lose function of my turn signals, horn, and if Im sitting there in Neutral and goost the throttle, the light dims to fully dark, and back to full brightness as RPMs go up and down. Im thinking there is a short that is only happening when the bike vibrates so bad it causes contact making a short, It's making me want to take all my signals and stuff off though thats for sure. haha.
consider electrical tests first.
with digital multimeter to battery.
get voltage at battery with bike off.
voltage during starting.
voltage while running.
consider rule-out of battery, stator, regulator and their connections.
Maybe a stupid question but, have you modified, changed anything just before this happened? You could also pull fuses/breakers one by one to see if you can isolate the problem.
Your bike had three electrical systems, Starting, ignition, and lights. With all three of them effected I would think that its the conections at the switch itself. I have had the wires start to break where a so called electrition crimped the wire at the eyelet that screws onto the switch.
