ultra rear speakers

Would like to know if I have to replace rear speakers with 8 ohm using factory radio or can I use 4 ohm[easier to find] and what would be the difference in sound. I remember hearing 4 ohm take 2x the power vs. 8 ohm to drive or am I backwards on this.

I think I had 4 ohm speakers when I still had the stock Harley radio in our '90 ultra and it had no problems with that. The 4 ohm speakers will be a little louder, I think the 4" J&M replacements are 4 ohm.

YOu should be fine running 4 ohm speakers on your head unit In the theroy you are not supposed to. The resistance is more on the 4 ohm which should cause your head unit to make more power to the rears
