They have 2 tiny barbs that poke out of the metal pins that hold them into the plastic block. They have to be compressed to allow the connector to be slipped back thru the plastic block.

You can screw around all day with a pick or ultra tiny screwdriver or you can buy a "pin extractor" tool from some parts stores or Radio Shack. There are several different styles. I prefer the R/S model# 274-223 about 8.00 You can buy the pins at R/S also, male or female but they only come with the plastic block in a kit. Some HD dealers keep them - some don't. And if you replace them, it takes a special crimper to make it a nice crimp and R/S doesn't have the correct tool for that size pin. Parts stores have them and they are about 40.00

Don't have the extractor here for a pic, but here's the pins and correct crimp tool.

T150 has it right. Do yourself a favor and try to eliminate as many splices as possible.

Default removing pins

Do yourself a favor and buy the pin tool! I too tryed all day to remove them!(no wander i drink) when i replaced my turn signals. I then went and bought a new male plug and put new pins in,you can crimp them with a small pair of needle nose if you"re patient and have a steady hand
