Default evo carburation

hi all, need some help here. i am rebuilding a 99 softail that was in a structure fire and melted all but frame and motor basicly. anyway the previous owner my sons girlfriend uncle, wow that was a long way, had put a super e on the bike but always had a rich run. i am open to any suggestions for carb to use. anyway if your still reading i have already powder coated the frame metalic silver with motor powder coated a deep medium blue. front is 21 60 spoke rear is 18 60 with 185 rubber, rear fender is half size and strutless. as you can see much thought has gone into this project so any help in completing before winter would be great. thanks in advance.

Pull the float bowl and see what you have a for an intermediate jet, pick up a couple jets progressively smaller,at least one.Tuning is an art, that does intimidate most people.Good Luck

Yeah.

The S&S carbs come pig rich out of the box in my experience. Get an assortment of leaner jets, download the PDF from the S&S site on the carb and once the bike is running, tune it then.

I would love to find a rebuildable 93 to 98 wideglide to do this winter at a good price. Sounds like fun.
I have the S&S super E on mine and I really like the way it works and easy to tune.
Good luck and please post some pics when you can.
