Default losing front spark

my 1988 softail is losing spark at the front cylinder. its got a screaming eagle coil. when i check it with a in line spark tester its got none. but when i turn it off it gets a spark with a back fire. i am thinking it might be a coil but not sure? now i fixed the bad wiring job that the last owner did for the coil.

Ignition problems suck. I went through all kinds then judged that the module was bad. Make sure the modue is wired good to the coil and no fixes that can come undone. A tick you can do is, hook a jump from your + terminal of the battery to the coil. This will be a solid 12 volts, the run with that and see if the problem happens. Put a disconnect in the middle of the jump wire or the bike won't shut off. Investigation takes for ever on ignition. Lots of ridding and getting stuck for me.

I work 3rd shift, so I may be groggy, but I think you may have posted elsewhere on the forum, I get the need to get answers fast, from what I've read of the post you should be able to track it down without to much trouble. If not, hits us back.
