What Do I need to know, The good the bad and ugly, please. Dealer wants to put one on to tune my bike, it's an 98 ultra with reinhearts and air. No cam. Also how do I want it tuned seem like lots of options. Thanks as alway this place is the best for good solid info.
Don't hear alot about them but looks basic as it gets, what scares me is the dealer would be guessing the settings without the dyno run.
If you break down of how you want it tuned is what you should consider, the Cobra lists a 3 dial system (pot) and adjusts by rpm range which is ok but not efficient., can only crossover cruise range afr.
The answer to how you want it tuned is with a PC3 or Sert on a dyno with cruise and light load range set at 14.2 afr and wide open throttle at best hp in the 13.2-13.5 afr range, mpg effiency and best power is available, PC3 and sert can adjust timing also.
Depends on wallet thickness and how particular you are but if they are going to run it on a dyno, get the better tuning system and make sure they don"t just set afr 13.8 across the board to get the flat rate.
