Default which is better a screaming eagle air cleaner kit or Arlen ness big sucker

I am looking to upgrade the air cleaner on my 99 fatboy. I can get a screaming eagle kit for $129 or the Arlen Ness for either a stage one for $99 or the stage 2 for $119. Just looking at them I reuse the stock cover for the screaming eagle and the stage 1 kits right? Then the stage 2 Arlen ness kit needs a bigger cover. So I am confused as to which route I should take. The Arlenn ness kit promises 19% increase with the stage one and 21% with the stage 2 are the extra couple percent worth the cost of the new cleaner cover I will have to buy with it.

I apologize for all the questions but I am new to the Harley stuff.

i like the big sucker, and when i worked for h-d all we ever installed was the bigsucker,Plus its a k/n filter which is washable.I think the stage one bs. is the one that reuses the oem cover.

When I got my bike it had a Big Sucker on it, using the standard round H-D cover. It's a very good intake. I replaced it with a Kury Hypercharger Pro (mostly for the looks), which has the same, slightly wider, K&N air filter that the Big Sucker II uses. I didn't really notice any performance difference when I put on the HP Pro, except that it is much louder. You can really hear it sucking, which I personally like. But I don't think my intake is my limiting performance factor, and I would say that unless your bike has a lot of performance engine mods like a high-lift cam, ported heads, higher compression ratio, etc. - either the Big Sucker or the SE would likely provide plenty of air for you...

if you have the stock 8 inch circular cover that most evos cam with, the arlen ness big sucker 2 will fitr under it, if your using a football cover, you can only get away with the stage 1 arlen ness, thats all i use, is the alren ness stage 2 kits. very high quality and a washable filter, what more can 1 ask for.

p.s and to be honest, there isnt much difference between the stage 1 and 2 ness filter, i would just opt for the stage 1 since its cheaper,

Arlen Ness only because of the filter.

I guess its fair to say that k&n is the standard, whatever you like that uses a k&n I think you would be good to go with a minimum difference between them with regards to air flow, set aside the hypercharger.
