Using the term "Shovel Parts" was a misstatement.
The 1984 was a transition year for the motor from the Shovelhead to the EVO motor. The early EVO motor used the same parts as in the Shovelhead. What Harley did was improve the parts as the EVO motor progressed. You will find that on the original part numbers will change as the parts are replaced with later versions. If you have an EVO motor, and not a Shovelhead, you should be able to use the EVO motor Rebuild service that Harley has in place.
