oil coming out timing plug

Default oil coming out timing plug

heres my issue.i built a bike bought a motor that the rings had frose.rebuilt motor.finally got bike done.now its pushing oil past the timing plug.my question is why?do i have a oil line switched around,is the timing wrong on the breather gear,or some other issue?the motor is a 95 harley evo

Assuming your breathing system is OK, you could just need a bit of teflon tape on the plug.

If it's leaking out there running but not pushing oil out the breathers to the air cleaner, it's likely the plug or debris under it. If it blows out when the plug is removed for setting the timing, that's normal.

You can buy a new timing plug for about 3.00 if that one is compromised and whatever you do, don't overtighten! Part# 720

ive tried teflon tape,an o ring,a plastic washer like on the drain plug of a car.couple weeks ago i put copper silicon on there.before i put the silicon i tightened it up just a bit too much.still some threads left but not all of them.there is no oil coming out of the head breathers.

Do you have good oil pressure reading? How well does the bike run & how much oil are you seeing coming out that plug?

i dont have a pressure gauge.the valve train sounds like its getting oil.theres enough oil coming out of that plug that after 100 miles it'll leave a good strip where its running off my frame
