Default anti dive on 89 FLHTCU

I am going to be changing the handlebars to a Klockwerks set. that means I no longer have an air resevoir for the anti dive. has anyone eliminated the air resovoir? and if so how? do you just plug the hole? did it make any difference to the handling? I had lowered the front end with new progressive springs and use a heavy fork oil so will I notice? I am thinking of just making a small pressure vessel to hold the same volume of air, but just wondering if it is worth it.

My '87 uses the crash bar for a resevoir. I'm not sure how many years fit... I might have a spare from my rebuild parts.

We took it off a freinds 89 Tour Glide and just set up later style air lines for preload. Road much better after we lowered it and rebuilt the forks!

Like what they used stock until 01, a fitting in the top of each fork cap, the line ran to a manifold to join the 2 lines together and then that single line ran to the back of the bike next to the rear valve.

We just joined the 2 under the gauge cluster then ran to a tab we mounted off the fork stem insted of running it to the back.

I just capped the airline when I went to miniapes, but now I think I'll go the vessel route in place of the bar reservoir. Thought about placing it where you would mount an oil cooler. Hard to explain, but just doesn't ride as good as it did with air in the forks.
