I just broke the 'Fuel Inlet Fitting' on my Keihin Carb (Butterfly Throttle Plate)!
I found a replacement at V-Twin Mfg.
My question is...how do I remove the brass part from the carb & replace the new fitting w/o doing any futher damage to the carb body?
The service manual doesn't cover any of this problem.
It's been a few years, but I broke one of those one time, wasn't sure how to get it apart, so I took the carb to the Harley dealer and asked them. If I remember correctly, it was pressed in. They got it out, pressed a new brass one in, and I think it cost me 20 bucks. This was on an '89 Custom Softail. The original fitting was plastic, but they replaced it with brass.

Thanks in advance for the advice.
All I did was use my smallest vice grip 4 or 6 inches and GENTLY moved the base back and forth to remove the plastic one and installed the new brass one with some high temp silicone and it went in well and hasn't leaked. Remember, you can buy lots of CV carbs for a reasonable price off ebay so don't sweat too much.
Thanks for the quick responses.
As you can see by my avitar, the bike is pretty much stock on the outside.
I've owned it since it was new.
The carb is an old 'Eagle Iron' (late 80's ventage) and I'd like to keep it, if possible.
Just didn't know what I would be getting into to for replacement of the fitting.
I'm going to replace the fitting with a solid brass one.
Was with Support Company in '68. 11C30.
Messed up a knee and lost jump status!!! Decided to get out then...returned in '75 as Cav Scout w/ 1/4 Cav. Spent rest of career 'riding'!!!
The Yost replacement elbow comes with a simple tool to remove the old elbow with out damaging anything. And instructions on how to press the new one in. (Just did it to mine a few months ago.)

Do you thave a source/web site?
This one seems to be a little stubborn!!
Was going to try the drill & tap method w/a homemade puller next!
