Default Greetings. Newbie questions E-G `91

Hi everyone.

Just bought 1991 E-Glide Classic - only 150 miles of my ride.

Wanted EVO - and I have it.

So my first quetion is:

HD has new EVO engines for sale - http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/C...p?locale=en_US

It looks litle different with mine - has oil filter holder in the fron jf engine case, and harley says - it is only for 99 Softails.

Can I use that engines for my bike?

Yes it will bolt in, then you can choose which style filter mount you want to use.

Welcome to HDF.

Harley changed the filter mounting from under the rear of the transmission to the front in the early 90s.

Before you do anything, take a look around here and you will find there are alternative brand engines to tempt you! I have an S&S 107 in my 1990.

Thank you for fast answers!

I do not need the engine at this moment, just looking for possiblity.

I know that Ultima makes the more displacement engines with price simila
r to HD Evo`s, Zipper makes the torque monsters, S&S and Accurate engineering - extra quality product, Revtech - eemmm - nothing to say, but they makes engnes also, and we have TP and so on.

But I have several reasons for HD Engine:

1. As you can see at my profile details I live in Russia. We can find HD parts here, but aftermarket is BIG problem. So stock HD is preferred.

2. The customs (the guys at the country border) - if I buy stock engine - it is no problem to pay customs rate, swap it and register in DMV. If it NOT stock... I have problem again.

By the way - does anybody tryed the baker 6 speed trans on E-glide with stock evo?
