Did a search but couldn't find the info.
I just purchased a '97 Bad Boy which just had, by the PO, a new Crane H4 (?) single fire ignition installed. The bike rode good but pinged under hard exceleration in any gear. Can someone tell me about tuning these ignitions? The PO was showing me how to turn it clockwise/counterclockwise but it all seems Greek to me.
20k miles, S&S carb, thunderheaders, cam (don't know which) and head work.
Just went to the Crane website. Timing is way beyond my skills (ie Ive never done that before). The PO was explaining how to advance / retard was a matter of finding the right place for the unit (as far as the clockwise/counterclockwise turning of the unit). I think I see a dyno in my future..
