nice buy, I wanted to buy one here some time ago, before my fatty, but it didn't have it's papers in order, long story about that. but I'll give u and Idea of what I wanted to do with her maybe ur interested :P
I wanted to convert it into an old 67 baggless electra glide somewhat like this one http://www.oyola-luiijf.com/joomla/i...cles&Itemid=49
why???? because I could have done it! :P plus... evo dressers are equipped with more hp than none dressers... they have somewhere around 52 when softails only have 42, somewhat like that, so there's no doubt that with little mods u can leave those 62hp twinkies behind!
On the neutral deal, if you can't do all of the adjustments and make it work, try the trick of of a slight blip of the throttle and pull up on on the shifter, it will fall into neutral on the way up or falling back in rpm's, your timing the gears like in a big rig. Change the primary to atf as mentioned

There's 2 of these models for sale from NJ for $7000. There on the www.Harleydavidson.com site under used bikes. There supposed to be 1998 models and say they have low miles. Just thought I'd share.
Also on the netrual thing. If the other things do not work look at the throw out bearing. Mine was going bad and it made a big difference finding N once replaced.
This afternoon I went out to check out the clutch adjustment. When I pulled the derby cover and loosened up the clutch cable, the center adjusting screw was just about touching the rod. I backed it out 1/2 turn and buttoned everything up. And before I put the cover on I decided to change the primary fluid. I didn't really look bad, but I changed it so I'll know when it was changed last. The clutch grabs 1/2 in off the bar, and I can get it in neutral with a little lever play. I'm happy. Also changed the trans oil. It looked nasty. Now it shifts nice and smooth, no clunk or banging into gear.,,
Well, Saturday I took the road warrior out for its first real ride. After spending a few afternoons trying to get the squeaks and rattles out of it. Had to buy a set of muffler hanger bushings and a gas tank release button. I took everything that would come off and tightened every nut and bolt on it. I gassed up up and headed out to meet up with the usual suspects. The bike rode like a bike that hadn't been rode for a while, but seems like it got in the groove after 25 miles or so. The day was perfect, went down to Sandy Hook nj, cruised along the Ocean and beaches. It seems like I'm putting the ol girl into an easy retirement after being used in probably the harshest service a bike can see. The bike ran great all day and I was happy there were not problems on the ride except for a buddy's newly purchased "chopper" liked to quit running and needed 20 minutes to cool off every 20 minutes, but it made the ride interesting.,,
Nice to here all went god! I ahve an urge to get on the bike, but weather is all messed up in here, can't tell when it's going to rain or not because if it rains it POURS!!!
I bet the dude went home complaining how ur ol'gal could last longer than his new bike... oh the youngs ones lol
Yesterday I called up an old bud to give me a hand tracing down more gremlins. Pulled of the outer fairing for the first time, was easier then I thought. The speedo has been dead since I bought it so off to the dealer for a new cable. The dealer closest to my house couldn't help me out with it, but did have one of the bulbs for the speedo. The second place had it and the guy even tossed me the nut for the trip set twist thing. At first he said it's all part of the speedo assembly and they don't sell it separately. Plus he had a new cable in stock. Now I don't have the service manual for this bike but, I have the factory manual for a '93/'94. It doesn't have any mention on how to separate the cable from the drive unit, even thou they sell the parts separately. Only something about the electronic speedo. Well I got that mystery solved, plus went to sears hardware to get some L brackets to fix up the broken fairing brackets. Put those in so next week I'll attempt to fix the broken rear fender/ saddle bag mount. Those cops were pretty hard on the Road Warrior.,,
