Default Tire Balance

Put both new tires on my bike today & rode around for about 20 miles without balancing the tires Then installed Dyna Beads in both & the ride was a lot smoother. Don't know how long it will last but I had to try them to see if they really work & in my opinion they do.

I put a new front tire on about 2 weeks ago. I went with the Dyna beads too. They put the tire on the spin balancer and showed my that it Zeroed out. I have about 300 miles on it. Smooth as silk so far.

The only problem I had with dyna beads is both times I installed them I dropped/spilled some and they are too small to pick up. I need to get a longer hose for over the valve stem, the one that came with the kit is just too short for me.

I could see how getting them in a mounted tire could be a PITA. Especialy the rear on a bagger. They kinda hit me off guard when I got my tire when they asked if I wanted to use the beads. I had read alittle about them and was not sure. They told me that the only complaint they got was from Rice rockets. You have to get up to around 20mph for them to seat while moving. If you are going 0-60 in seconds they dont sit right. The guy who did my tire put it on the spin balancer to show me that it did zero out. Like I said so far this is one of the smoothest fronts I have had.

Would you use these in a tire with a tube? Put them in the tube so they can move?

They work fine in the two tubed tires I put them in for myself and a buddy. Just be sure and put the stem @ the 6 o'clock position to check your air pressure. Sometimes a little bead will get in the stem and let all the air out. Another way to do it is to give it a little shot of air before putting the gauge on the stem.

It's good to read the dyna beads do so well on the balancers. I decided on trying dyna beads because it makes it easier changing a tire at home with a minimum of tools and so far seems OK while riding. I do think a longer hose to get past the brake rotors will help as well, as I don't feel comfortable putting in the dyna beads until after I have the tire mounted and the new tire's bead seated. Maybe after I do a few more tires I will get better at it and will add the dyna beads before seating the bead.
