What 1997bagger said. Don't worry too much about the bearings or pushrods, but the lifters are a real question. I wouldn't put cheap or no-name lifters in the bike. Forget the kit and buy the components individually. I got the cam for $138, HD quick install pushrods for $119 and a gasket kit and bearing for $40. I have a '99 with only 10,000 miles on the clock, so I'm not going to do the lifters unless I see something fishy with them when I open it up. Good luck with the project. I may have the bearing removal tool for sale in a few weeks when I finish my bike.

The Andrews EV-46 or the V-Thunder EVL-3020 might also be good choices for your bike. Either will give you more mid-range to top-end power to help you keep up with those twinkies. An Evo with a good Stage 2 upgrade, properly tuned, should let you do that.

I run the V-Thunder EVL-3010 in Bertha... I get 45 MPG, and she's a 900 lb "full-figured" girl!

Looking at the specs on the EV46, it would not be hitting its stride until about 3K and up to 6K. That is a pretty high lower range for my driving style. Now the v-thunder 3020 sounds interesting with a power range of 1800 to 6K (the ev27 is 1600-6K)

I put a Woods W6 in my 98 EFI RK and it made the bike run like it should have come from teh factory. The Andrews 27 would be my 2nd choice as it is less money & folks have had very good results.

I'm actually thinking about moving back to an EVL-3000, because I want more low end power than the EVL-3010 seems to deliver. The constant downshifting to keep the engine in the proper gear and RPM range for best power gets a bit tedious.
