Default Somebody stop Me!!, Springer ??

Hi,

I think I have a serious case of tinkeritus, I've gone a whole year without a single issue, don't even know where my allen keys are....And since I can't seem to let well enough alone, I'm thinking of converting to a springer. I have a 92 front end available that with some small parts that are need will run me 1500, plus painting the fender to match. It looks cherry and should really look good on my bike.

Question, Am I going to be sorry with a springer ride as apposed to my stock front end? I rarely ride 2-up but love to staighten out the back roads at speed.

Thanks
Doug-

I think you'll love it. But I love Springers. No, they don't handle as nice nor ride as smooth as hydraulic forks, bit they look sweet, add allot of flash to the bike and are just plain cool...IMHO. I say go for it....I did.

Well, I stopped myself, there was more rust than I was comfortable with but the seller was honest which is rare these days. To be honest, this conversion will probalby run +2K by the time I'm totally done from the prices I've seen. I won't gain much if any performance so that's alot for just a "look". My long range plans include a Heritage springer so I'm just gonna toss 2K in my "toy" tin box and hunker down for the longrun..

Thanks
D
