Default Cam advise please

Well, I thought I had decided on the EV27, but I've been reading about the EVL3010. I have a '96 FLSTN and ride 2up quite a bit, mostly highway. Just looking for the best bang for the buck along with the quietest set up, probably gonna go with V Thunder lifters. Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

its no suprise to anyone here that im a huge vthunder supporter, reason being is well, im young and broke, and have built several 80 inchers making anywhere from 65 hp to nearly 100 hp, the vthunder lifters are idea, because they are high quality for the same price as a stock typle lifter, but much better, the 3010 camshaft is a low end stump pulling camshaft, youll like it and it doesnt need any compression to see a noticable increase in hp, jireh cycles currently has those cams on sale for 122 bux, plus, imo, they are much quieter than the andrews grinds, i currently have a ev3(because it was given to me)in a bagger, and its noiser than hell, so hope that helps. chad.

I agree. I run the EVL-3010 in Bertha, with Velva-Touch lifters and chromoly adjustable rods. It's a great cam. I have noticed that it likes some revs to really get going. I find the best acceleration between 3000-5000 RPM with this cam. I also had to dial back the advance on the Twin Tec ignition module quite a bit to keep Bertha from pinging below 3000 RPM. That may be unique to my bike though, for some reason. The equipment I run is in my sig pic below.

The V-Thunder ramps are much less aggressive than the Andrews ramps, which makes the EVL-3010, and in fact Bertha's entire valve train, run very quietly.

I don't think you could go wrong with the V-Thunder cams. I did a lot of research before I bought the EVL-3010, and I'm happy with it.

Thank you. I kinda knew I would end up buying the 3010. I'll get it installed before spring along with a Big Sucker kit, then I should have a little something for those 88's I run with.
