I rode a one lung thumper for years as my only means of transportation. If I fouled a plug it meant I got to push.
The only plug I couldn't foul with that bike was a Bosch platinum.
The HD runs fine on Champions and I am regularly running between 5000 to 9000 feet in altitude..

Just looking at your location, I almost have to ask....which part of the USA isn't New Mexico?
Autolite Coppers 4164 or even 4165. They run great, clean, and I've yet to have an issue with one. Can't say the same about either kind of HD.
D
I got my order of 4165's , can anyone tell me the differnce of when one would run 4164's compared to the 4165's like what characteristics of the bike running would you look for? Or is more of the plug reading, white compared to dark insulator?
Seems like I read in American Iron Magazine, that Harley plugs were made by Champion to Harley's specs, and there was no direct replacement Champions. I have been running Harley plugs in my 99 now for 10,000 miles with no problems, but I will probably change them out this summer just because. I did have them out at about 9,000, and they looked great.
champion 12yc, but i know guys with pretty much same bike and they have tried many different plugs some go one way ,some goother ways. think you have to play around and find what you prefer . not trying to be a smart a@# just an honest opinion
