if there is anything in the screen you have some major motor problems. 99.999% chance of being clean if you decide to check it.

Thanks for all of the tips. I know that it will probably be clean, but a 13 year old bike that has never been checked (I assume) want to be safe rather than sorry.

Dr. Hess, no plans to get to NW AR in the near future, but I'll double that beer if you can tell me the length, and thread size for a chrome replacement.

It's not just a bolt there is a recess that the spring goes in, so you need to get the specific after market replacement. They come in hex and allen, we prefer the allen for what it's worth.
