i am adjusting my clutch on my 98 fxdl after putting in an mrc clutch ramp. love it - nice and easy.
anyway. followed the directions and adjusted it a 3/4 turn out. it engages properly, but starts too close to the grip for me. i want it to start a little farther out. do i back out the screw a 1/4 turn counterclockwise or turn it in clockwise a 1/4 turn. the SM doesnt state which way.
thx - tin

Reason: spelling
Never done a MRC clutch ramp before but I ran across a set of instructions that lead me to believe 1/4 to 1/2 out was what they wanted. They want you you use Harley's instructions to adjust the cable after you set the clutch. Obviously the bike must be cold. To answer your question clockwise is what you want.
Dang, I always forget which way to go, go one way, if that don't work go the other, sorry I couldn't be more help. Happens to me too, every time I adjust, gonna have to put it in my manual notes.
