Default Tail Light - Wiring

I have a '97 WG and am installing some LED lights. I was looking into connecting the LEDs with the brake light - brake light comes on, so do the LEDs (more visibility).

The Service Manual (SM) on page 8-36, figure 8-45, shows the wires for the tail lamp. It shows the color of four wires and what cavity they are located in:

* Black = 5
* Red/Yellow = 6
* Blue = 7
* Orange/White = 2

And of course my multimeter does not work (tab broke for battery) and not wiring schematic.

My guess is the tail light on wire is either the Red/Yellow or the Orange/White. Almost thinking it is the Orange/White.

Found a 2nd voltmeter I forgot my friend gave me. Tested brake light > Zero volts when on and 12v when brakes applied = Red/Yellow.

just an observation... if the led lights ur installing don't have duo intensity, when ur brake applied, the lights lit and u want to signal a turn, they won't work... they will be lit all the time...

Interesting...I will have to check that. Thanks! The manufacturer's video only showed the brake light being applied. Nothing with the turn signals.
