Default Help with Tail Light Wiring

Hi,

I bought an aftermarket tail light for a 2006 HD FXSTI. The bike has 4 wires and the tail light has 3. The bike's wire has a orange/white, red yellow, solid blue and black.

The tail light has 3 wires: red, yellow, and black.

How do I wire this? When I touch the orange/white to the tail light's red, the brake light comes on but does not go off...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that your bikes orange/white wire is for the driving light. Try hooking it up to the tail lights yellow wire and see if it works as a driving light and not a brake light. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Just don't connect anything black to anything other than black! lol A test light would be your best friend here.

It would also help if you could let us all know the year and model of your bike.

Don't hijack an existing thread especially one that's over a year old.

Start your own thread with your specific question.

Some people say use the search. Others say start a new thread. Lets just not say anything and actually give some constructive insight.
