I bought an aftermarket tail light for a 2006 HD FXSTI. The bike has 4 wires and the tail light has 3. The bike's wire has a orange/white, red yellow, solid blue and black.
The tail light has 3 wires: red, yellow, and black.
How do I wire this? When I touch the orange/white to the tail light's red, the brake light comes on but does not go off...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that your bikes orange/white wire is for the driving light. Try hooking it up to the tail lights yellow wire and see if it works as a driving light and not a brake light. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Just don't connect anything black to anything other than black! lol A test light would be your best friend here.
It would also help if you could let us all know the year and model of your bike.
