Default New and not charging

Once again guys I need some assistance. I installed a new charging system, a Cycle Electric system, it is model 61A which is 38 amp system. I've also installed new ultima starter 1.4 and ultima ignition.
Here's where I'm at, a month back when I was doing all the upgrades I started the bike ( it is always on the battery tender to keep battery up ) when I started bike it whirreled over really well and with my volt meter across battery I got 12 volts and thought it was charging so I went onward with other upgrades. Today I finally got bike out, was dying to try the tranny rebuild and new clutch, that part went well.
Went for cruise out to my buddies and when I went to leave click click no go. We put boost charger on bike and started ok, we put volt meter at starter stud and ground and got 11.6, by the time I got home got 11 volts across starter stud and ground. I have the battery back on battery tender right now so I can start and test with you guys directions.
I've read all about dreaded click and NGHawgs thread of Poor Bertha https://www.hdforums.com/forum/evo-c...-problems.html, very nicely documented and will also refer to it if needed.
I'm not sure if all the troubleshooting described in Poor Bertha would be the same as my situation because mine is 3 phrase. My system has 3 wires coming from stator to the regulator.
Please help me out here guys, where should I start.
PS I know how to use my voltmeter for checking volts and ohms but I admit I don't really understand the purpose of the different value settings.
Thanks

Rather than type for half the night, call 937-884-7300 ask for Carl ( works for Cycle Electric) he will walk you through your problem he's a great guy. I have the same unit in one of my bikes. I had a bad regulator and they shipped me a new one the next day. I'm sure you have checked all you connections. You should have 14.2-14.6 at the battery. Hope this helps

Well you got me thinking about connections and sure enough seems the culprit is at the stator 3 wire connection block setup. They don't seem to have a click fit but more of a simple slide and hope it keeps contact connection. I will give Carl a call tomorrow and see if I'm missing something with that connection.
thanks

On my 90, or other vehicles, for that matter, when ever I take something electrical apart, it gets dieletric grease to prevent corrosion before it goes back together. Even light bulbs.

I don't mean to suggest that the grease will cure all electrical probs, but for sure will ease your mind as to what might be the cause your troubles. Just good preventative maintenance. I work in a factory and pm is a super big deal.

Been working and no time, but I did have time to call Harley and get them to send me a new battery. I figured new 38 amp charging , new starter and new battery cables I might as well give it a new battery.
