Ok, im sure this is a re post but after searching forum for last 20 minutes, I havent got my question answered directly and some confliction. So I appologize.
Ok, I'm putting everything back together and have my new v-thunder pushrods. To adjust them, I have the lifter for the one I'm working on in the lowest cam position.
Now is proper way to adjust push rod to extend so there is no up or down movement, but still spins freely, and then adjust another 3 turns out? and repeat once lifter is bled?
Or do you not want the push rod to be able to spin freely?
Again, I appologize because im sure this is a re-post, but thank you in advance for help!
Pretty much nailed it. I just put in a set of those rods on top of my new EV46. extended them until I had zero lash, NO up and down but the rods will still spin freely. Then extend 3 turns, (or 18 flats) and lock the lock nuts. Do the intake first and then the exhaust on say the front cylinder and then llow the lifters to bleed down before moving on to the other cylinder. You can tell the lifters are bled when you can turn the pushrod with thumb and forefinger, not easily really but they'll turn.
The Vthunder rods are 24tpi so 2.5 turns gives you roughly .100 inches, v thunder wants 3 turns so you're into your lifter travel a bit more, about .120 inches. I followed the directions and this is the quietest Andrews cam I've ever heard..
