currently i have a 1997 1200 sportster and currently looking at a 1990 softail custom and wondering what the difference there is between the vibration on these two solid mount bikes. the same or does the bigger 1340 vibrate more.i dont find the sport all that bad so if it isnt more it wont bother me to much

 

I don't think the difference is that much. It's been a while since I rode a shovelhead, but I'd say the Sportster is certainly no worse than that, and probably about the same. Of all the bikes I've owned, the ironhead sportster vibrated the worst. I don't think it would bother you at all. Why are you concerned?

 

My wife has a '89 Custom Softail and it rides fine. Compared to the Sportster, it's gonna feel like a "bigger" bike. Years ago I owned a '82 Sportster, and the '89 Softail is a lot more comfortable to me.
