Default Trans drain plug size

I just recently aquired an 1986 FXR-S from my father. He told me to change the trans fluid but when I went to pull the plug, I realized that I do not have a socket large enough to fit. Anyone know the size of that thing or the socket needed to pull it?? All information would be helpful. Thanks to all in advance.

Default RE: Trans drain plug size

My 93 FLHS uses a 3/4" socket (or wrench)...Same as the oil plug.
